With Hits Me Like I'm Stoned the band establish that they’re a band to be reckoned with. They take a good chunk of 60s psychedelic rock and add a modern slant, with some alternative rock tendencies, occasionally bringing up associations with bands like Primal Scream and perhaps Monster Magnet. The guitars reign supreme and flood this hypnotic track.
The second piece is a cover of an obscure 60s UK band, Factory. It very much fits with the style of the first track, as The Lucid Dream add their own sound to the 60s track.
The production on the whole 7” is like going back to the 60s. The music sounds very alive and vibrant, which is so important for psychedelic rock.
