  • Authentic sounding retro proto-metal/hard rock that sounds like something you might have plucked from the shelves of a record shop in 1973

  • This is a really good hard rock album. It sounds something like a hybrid of Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, Ram Jam (Black Betty), and maybe a bit of The Yardbirds. The vocals have a bit of Jagger’s swagger and the lead guitar sounds like it’s been blessed by Hendrix. It’s just good old rock n’ roll that’s fun to listen to. Love it! Definitely a gem. Should the old gang ever convene again, this would be a great one to spin. This album demands a gather-call be given! 8/10.

  • One of the year’s top album . Probably retro album of the year . A Jeronimo cover . This is so authentic you could think Ape Skull were contemporaries of of the likes of Jeronimo , Orange Peel , and Damnation of Adam Blessing. All bands they covered a song of .

  • Ape Skull haven’t necessarily recreated the wheel, but they sure have power mowed a notch out of my brain with 7 tracks of hard rock, frolicked by funk and flourishing in proto-borne hook. Each track gets better and better.
