Apocalipsis Desertico
Apocalipsis Desértico is a stoner rock band from Chile. The band was originally formed in 1999 by brothers Pablo and Arnoldo Torres in Peñalolén, an eastern district of the city of Santiago, along with two local friends. However, in 2002 the project was put in standby after the Torres family moved to Mejillones, a small town in northern Chile, 65 kilometers north of Antofagasta. In 2010 the Torres brothers released their first album, to which another one would follow in 2017. Ever since, the band has been playing gigs around Chile and recording and releasing new stuff, undergoing some lineup changes. In 2019, the band recorded an EP with legendary producer Jack Endino, known for his work with artists like Mudhoney, Nirvana and Soundgarden, including Chilean band The Ganjas. As of 2023, the band's current formation is: Arnoldo Torres (vocals, rythm guitar) Pablo Torres (drums) Claudio Hirmas (bass guitar) Carlos Lichiok (lead guitar) The Torres brothers also play in the band Ruinas Circulares with Hirmas and guitarist/vocalist Sergio Carvallo of post metal band Goecia. Claudio Hirmas also plays in Triocosa, a cumbia trio that plays in parties and live events. For his part, Carlos Lichiok works as a sound engineer and plays guitar in bands Silent Cloud Machine, Vagina Húmeda and Nigromancia Inducida. Read more on Last.fm.
