La musique se simplifie encore un peu plus dans Suffocating in the Ether car la voix de Déhà s'est tue. Seuls restent le drone minimaliste qui retourne au magma originel inventé par Sunn O))), ainsi que le synthé. Ce dernier dérive et sombre ; incessant, il déforme irrémédiablement la mélodie respiratoire et les ronflements. L'inconscient ne contient que les cauchemars...”
