  • Ever imagined what Frank Zappa's debut album might sound like if he hadn't done any yet and had a small budget in 2025 to spend on contemporary instruments and studio tech? Well - now you do! Very brave and weirdly excellent album, this. 🤘

  • Sweden's Mammoth Volume returns with Raised Up by Witches, a powerful testament to their unique blend of stoner rock, prog, and heavy psych. The album showcases their signature fusion of dirty, fuzzy, and sometimes obscure guitar riffs, dynamic shifts, and thematically deep vocals which draws the listener into their world of complex compositions. An undeniably powerful album that will be remembered in Stoner Rock.

  • Stunning new album from the unique and different Mammoth Volume. There is no one quite like these guys, long may they travel the paths others fear to tread. Full review here ... https://stonerking1.blogspot.com/2024/08/mammoth-volume-raised-up-by-witches.html

  • Simply wonderful collection of off kilter prog rock that had me bashing the buy button double quick.

  • First spin last night - initial thoughts - one of the most electic yet coherent records I've heard. Yes, prog jazzy strange and heavy under it all, but it's very well writ, no moment is boring or wasted. It is clean, impreccably played, you can tell it was laboured over but is joyous and not overwrought or grandiose - song lengths seem halved and fly by - I'd love to see this band headline with some local prog jazzy strange heavy riffers named The Stone Eye opening - think that'd be just right.
