  • Possibly MONO's "lightest" album, both in terms of the sound and the overall feel. It's very airy, delicate and beautiful: evocative of a child's imagination when they hear their parents tell them stories of the past. It's heavily orchestral and has some truly gorgeous and ethereal moments throughout. In a lot of ways, this album paved the way for 2024's OATH. For My Parents is one of MONO's most underappreciated albums to date, definitely grab it!

  • If you were to describe the music of MONO as “heavy,” chances are I’d laugh so hard my coffee would shoot out my nose. That being said, this album leans very heavily on the neo-classical side and makes this album sound “lighter” than others. But this album also leans perhaps more heavily on the melancholy (due to the more prominent neo-classical influences). Overall, this album feels very reflective and warm, like the embrace of a loved one.

  • I sincerely believe that MONO are the best at their particular brand of post-rock.

  • Listening to this record is an emotional roller coaster, no matter how many times I put it on. As always, the compositions are masterful, and this time around, MONO have given us their projection of nostalgia and hope with these wonderful songs. Viva MONO!
