  • This is a pretty interesting one for MONO: less symphonic than many of their albums, and thus carries a heavier tone to it, but still indisputably neoclassical. The title track feels a lot like a sequel to "Com(?)" and is truly a titan of post-rock writing! That song also is the mid-point of the album, with the first two tracks having a subtle tension underneath everything, and the last two tracks feel much calmer, if a bit somber. Requiem for Hell may be MONO's most underrated album so far!

  • genuinely so gorgeous . i think the album cover is a depiction of the empyrean (aka the living place of god) from the divine comedy ? and i have always loved artworks like this that depict the unknowable. it adds SO much to this album. makes me feel like im searching for an audience with the universe itself or something

  • Another amazing album. I’m never disappointed with anything they release. Of course I prefer some tracks over others, but I am really impressed with their discography. I love albums that I can listen to all the way through, no skips. This is definitely one.

  • I've been through throwback days heavily driven by Mono's materials and it's safe to say it went overly well every single time. I first came across the post rock genre with God is an Astronaut and Collapse under the Empire which are both exemplary and remain my fourites by far along with a third act being the main topic of that little chunk right here. Very intimate and coming with a lush production, Requiem for Hell is just as great an album as any from their collection to date 🎶

  • This song was the last one me and a departed friend listened to. Even before showing him, I thought Ely’s Heartbeat was incredible, but after… it’s something beyond words. A piece of me that I can never leave behind. I miss my friend, and I’ll always think of him when listening to this track. When I asked him what he thought about the track, he simply said “It was beautiful”. God bless you, Ethan. And God bless Mono, and God bless you.
