“This really pushes the limits of a conventional split. Two absolutely MASSIVE side-length tracks from some amazing bands, the storytelling is already obvious from the music itself. Well worth the listen as it will just carry you away. (and many, many thanks to ST/PaleWizard for their generosity)”

“Both of these songs have the ability to decimate a small tribe of cavemen with pure sonic brilliance. 10/10, no favourite because it would be an exercise in futility to pick one over the other.”
“2 years later, and this is still the best album I've heard this century. Essential.”

“Both bands are absolutely amazing! This truly is a timeless masterpiece! Much ❤ for this release and all those involved! It's tough to pick a fave, I've listened to this at the very least 30 times, no doubt, and I'm still torn between these two. Sergeant Thunderhoof only has a slight advantage because I've been a fan of theirs slightly longer. Honestly both bands are incredibly talented and I cannot give enough praise to this split, my favorite split I've ever heard ever! A must have, period.”

“Masamune & Muramasa is one of the most cohesive split records I’ve ever heard. “Masamune”, Howling Giant’s contribution, is the unquestionably proggier and stronger of the two 20-minute suites. "Muramasa” leans more on stoner metal and heavy psych, rather than prog, but it’s a strong complement to the first song.
